🗺️The Stove Cafe, Dumfries
Thank you everyone for attending our Climate Kitchen event this month where we welcomed local artist Andy Brooke to talk about his new artwork: The Concrete Window. Go see this beautiful and thought-provoking piece which is on display at The Stove Café on Dumfries Highstreet for another week.

Andy’s piece reflects on the use of concrete all the way from its production through to its destruction whether due to decay, the damage of war, or lack of care towards building and maintaining our homes. The piece contains many references to our local landscape and places including screen printed images of Lochside and lead lines running horizontally across the piece in the shape of iconic Scottish hill and mountain ranges including Criffel.

Please see Andy’s blog for more information about the work as well as an attendee’s thoughts on the event!
We then got to play and discuss some environment themed board games: Daybreak, Spirit Island, and Earthborne Rangers.
Give them a go and use them as a starting point to spark some environmental discussions.
